I would just like to say a few words about Lewis Memorial Baptist church, and the difference that it has made in my life.
For over fifty years I attended a "spiritually dead" church. I would get dressed on Sunday morning, go through the motions of getting ready, sit through an hour of very weak sermons, and then go home without feeling one bit excited about the things that God has done for me in my many years of life.
About five years ago, I visited Lewis Memorial Baptist Church for the first time. All I can say is, "WOW", what a difference this wonderful church has made in my life. Right away, I loved Pastor Lemming and Mary. I found the congregation to be very friendly, and the music was bouncy and very inspiring.
After that day I started getting up on Sunday mornings very excited to be going to church. For the first time in my life.....I was actually looking forward to beautiful music, a fantastic sermon, friendly people....and like velcro....I stuck, like so many others. I immediately began to tell others about how I started feeling God very strongly in my life, and how I was turning to Him for guidance. It is like a miracle that I was sent to this wonderful church after all these years.
Believe me when I say that all churches are not alike. This church has taught me so much about prayer, getting saved, and living each day for the Lord. I appreciate the many blessings that God has bestowed upon me more than ever before. If He chooses to put some obstacles in my way, I just start to pray, and I know in my heart that things will work out....they always do when you are a believer.
I began to tell others about this wonderful place of worship, and, thankfully, others have joined me, and some have joined the church family very quickly.
I just can't say enough about Pastor Lemming. He as always been there for me, even though he has only known me a very short while.
My hope for you is...if you are in a church that is not feeding you spiritually, please just go and try Lewis Memorial Baptist Church once. I am sure that you will continue to go more and more, as I did. You will not be sorry, and your life will change in a very positive way forever. I thank the staff and the members for being so kind to me, and accepting me just as I am. God bless all of you here at this wonderful church, and may you go on helping others like myself.
